Araga Jnanendra, the Home Minister of Karnataka, on Wednesday wrote a letter to Praveen Sood, the Director-General and Inspector General (DG&IG) of police asking for a detailed report within a weeks’ time, in connection to the murder of the Bajrang Dal activist Harsha in Shivamogga District of Karnataka.
The Home Minister wrote in the letter that the arrest of the accused involved in Harsha’s murder case their producing before the court and further inquiry into the matter is all acceptable. But, it has been noted that there have been pending cases against the accused within the Kote and Doddapete police station limits in the city.
The minister enquired if the cops had taken any action against the accused who had a criminal background in the last five years within the two police station limits. He then asked for a detailed report within a week, adding that there are serious allegations about the anti-social elements being helped by the police to operate in the city.
Harsha was allegedly murdered in Shivamogga, on Sunday night and following the incident the security was tightened in the city.
