The Joint Declaration of Intent (JDI) for the Rehabilitation of the Forest Area between India and Germany was signed by the then Minister of Environment, Forestry and Climate Change, Shri Bhupender Yadav and the Hon. Steffi Lemke, Minister of Environment, Conservation, Arms Security and Consumer Protection for the Federal Republic of Germany today.
It is one of the 6th India-Germany Inter-Governmental Consultations (IGC) submissions. During the event, Shri Bhupender Yadav said the JDI will provide a platform to further our partnership and support in areas such as conservation and rehabilitation, climate protection and biodiversity conservation. This will take our relationship to another important step forward.
Shri Yadav went on to say that this Joint Declaration of the Purpose of Forest Rehabilitation will also help strengthen Indo-German cooperation under the strong guidance of our leaders.
The Union Minister of Environment stated that JDI will also enable us to work more effectively and increase our cooperation between the two countries in the areas of forest restoration, environment and climate change. Both countries are looking forward to the successful implementation of JDI.
