Meta Platforms’s Instagram experienced widespread outages for several users on the morning of March 22, as reported by outage tracking website Downdetector.com. The platform faced various issues, with “User reports indicating problems at Instagram.”
According to Downdetector.com, there were 488 reports of outages on the Instagram app at 6:30 am, with users worldwide encountering difficulties. Many users complained of being automatically logged out of their Instagram accounts.
The report from Downdetector.com highlighted that 70 percent of users faced login issues, 19 percent encountered problems with the app itself, while 11 percent experienced server connection issues.
Downdetector.com tracks outages by aggregating status reports from various sources, including user-submitted errors on its platform.
This isn’t the first time Instagram has experienced disruptions. Yesterday, thousands of users also reported issues accessing the platform. In the United States alone, more than 5,000 users reported difficulties accessing the photo-sharing platform during the peak of the outage, according to Downdetector’s data.
The recurring outages have prompted frustration among users and raised concerns about the stability of the Instagram platform.
