Shri Nitin Gadkari reiterated India’s strong support for cooperation with Japan in highway development

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari reiterated India’s strong support for cooperation with Japan in the highway development, management and monitoring sector with the implementation of digital-enabled ITS services in his interaction with the Japanese delegation led by Mr. Koichi Hagiuda and Shri Hiroshi Suzuki.

Shri Gadkari said that the Indo-Japan Joint Working Group (JWG) will work together to provide the best road infrastructure for commuters and freight and help India achieve its sustainable transport goals. He said joint projects for massive digital transformation in the fields of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and Green Mobility will be carried out.

The Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India has always placed the Indo-Pacific at the center of its engagement with Southeast and East Asian countries under India’s Eastern Policy Act.
