RakshaMantri Shri Rajnath Singh arrived in Hawaii on April 12, 2022 to visit United States Indo-Pacific Command (SINDOPACOM). Upon his arrival from Washington DC, Shri Rajnath Singh was received by the Commander, US Admiral INDOPACOM John Aquilino. USINDOPACOM and the Indian military have a wide range of interactions, including extensive military exercises, training events and exchanges. RakshaMantri will visit USINDOPACOM headquarters, Pacific Fleet and training centers in Hawaii on April 13, 2022, before returning to India. He is expected to lay flowers at the Pacific National Memorial Cemetery and visit US Army Pacific headquarters and Pacific Air Forces, during his brief stay in Hawaii.
In Washington DC, U.S. President Joe Biden held a formal meeting with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in front of Shri Rajnath Singh, Secretary of State Dr S Jaishankar, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. Later, RakshaMantri and the Minister of Foreign Affairs co-chaired the US India-US Ministerial 2 + 2 Dialogue fourth on April 11, 2022. A Joint Statement was released after discussion. Ahead of the 2 + 2 Dialogue, Shri Rajnath Singh held a bilateral meeting with the US Secretary of Defense separately at the Pentagon.
