Britain still wants to agree a Diwali free trade deal with India later this month, a spokesman for Prime Minister Liz Truss said on Wednesday. Asked if the government still wanted a trade deal by that date, the spokesman said: “Yes, we are working towards this highly ambitious free trade agreement that would put the UK at the forefront of supplying India’s growing middle class.”
