Sports Focus: Striking with a strike rate of 183.33, Dinesh Karthik amassed 330 runs in 16 games at IPL 2022

Dinesh Karthik has excelled in the recent Indian Premier League (IPL) program, and has been particularly impressed with his finishing skills. An outgoing wicket-taker rescued Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) from many dangerous situations and on several occasions ensured that his ball landed on the opposing team.

Hitting with a strike rate of 183.33, Karthik amassed 330 runs from 16 touchdowns. It has been a major factor in the striker being included in the India squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against South Africa, starting June 9th.

Explaining his views on his return, former India coach Ravi Shastri said the upcoming series is an opportunity for the 37-year-old to strengthen his place in the Indian team in the upcoming T20 World Cup squad.

“This is his chance. If he also gets a chance at these games, he should do it wearing Indian colors. We know he has experience, so this is very important,” said Shastri.
