Tamil and Malayalam film industry mourn the loss of renowned actor Daniel Balaji, who tragically passed away from a heart attack at a private hospital in Kottivakam, Chennai, on Friday night. Known by his stage name TC Balaji, the actor was 48 years old at the time of his demise.
Daniel Balaji was rushed to the hospital after complaining of chest pain on Friday. Despite efforts, he couldn’t be revived, leaving behind a shocked fanbase and grieving Tamil cinema fraternity.
Director Mohan Raja paid tribute to Balaji, reminiscing about their friendship and the actor’s influence on his career. The news has sparked an outpouring of condolences on social media, with fans and colleagues expressing their sorrow over the sudden loss.
Starting his career as a unit production manager in Kamal Haasan’s project “Marudhunayagam,” Daniel Balaji ventured into acting with roles in television serials like “Chithhi.” His debut in Tamil cinema came with the film “April Madhathil” in 2022. He showcased his talent across various languages, including Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada.
Balaji gained recognition for his portrayal of diverse characters, notably as a police officer in “Kaakha Kaakha” alongside Suriya and as Amudhan in “Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu” alongside Kamal Haasan. His notable performances in films like “Polladhavan,” “Chirutha,” and “Muthirai” solidified his position as a versatile actor.
The actor’s last appearance was in Mithran R Jawahar’s “Ariyavan” in 2023, leaving behind a legacy of memorable performances that will be cherished by fans and remembered by the industry for years to come.
