French cybersecurity company Thales buy US cybersecurity firm Imperva for $3.6 billion

French defense electronics and cybersecurity company Thales said Tuesday it has agreed to buy U.S. cybersecurity firm Imperva for $3.6 billion on an enterprise value basis.

Thales, which will buy Imperva from software investment firm Thoma Bravo, said the acquisition would boost its profits and boost revenue by around $500 million. “The acquisition of Imperva represents a significant milestone in Thales’ cybersecurity strategy,” said Thales CEO and Chairman Patrice Caine.

Thales estimated that the Imperva acquisition would generate approximately $110 million in pre-tax synergies, including $50 million in cost synergies and $60 million in revenue synergies.
