India exports of 2021-22 Ceramics & Glassware products reached a record US $ 3464 Million. During FY 2013-14; Exports of Indian Ceramic & Glassware products to the value of US $ 1292 Million.

The growth in the export of Ceramic tiles has been achieved due to increased exports of Ceramic Tiles products and Sanitary products. Today Indian Tile Industry has become a global player and earns foreign exchange in the form of “Make In India” and today India is the world’s second largest tile manufacturer.
The growth in Glassware product exports has been achieved due to increased exports of Articles of Glass Packing of Goods, Made-ups Articles of Glass Fiber, Sanitary fixtures of Porcelain, Glass Mirror, Tinted Non-Wired Glass, Glass Bead and Wool Glass. .
India exports to more than 125 countries and the leading destinations are Saudi Arabia, United States, Mexico, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Oman, Indonesia, United Kingdom and Poland. New markets, such as Russia and Latin American countries, have also been expanded.
The increase in exports of Ceramic and Glassware products has been achieved due to ongoing efforts on the part of the Department of Commerce. Also, various initiatives have been undertaken by CAPEXIL, through Grant in Aid under the Market Access Initiative Scheme, such as organizing B2B exhibitions in various countries, exploring new potential markets through product-specific campaigns and marketing through active Indian ambassadors.
This increase in exports has been achieved despite unprecedented transport challenges such as high quality goods, shortage of boxes, etc. Increased exports of Ceramic and Glass ware products have benefited small and medium-sized exporters from Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
Over the years, the industry has been developing with innovation and product profile, quality and design to emerge as a modern world-class industry ready to take the world championship. Our new inventions for new designs, digital printed tiles and multi-colored tiles of various colors have also gained acceptance in overseas markets.
