Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy, Shri Bhagwant Khuba visited several solar PV facilities on the last day of Munich, Germany for the Intersolar Europe 2022. Shri BhagwantKhuba, earlier today, visited the Interspace Agri-PV farm in Althegenber near I -Munich, Germany. The Agri-PV concept promotes dual agricultural use and solar generation.
The structures of the high solar panels provide much needed shade for the plants in the tropical climate of India. Some vertical panels can be used in agro PV. The Minister noted that this vision addresses both food security and energy security needs in India in the coming years and therefore many such projects will be implemented in India. The secretary, of MNRE Shri InduShekharChaturvedi was also present. Shri Khuba visited various Solar PV sites with new technologies / methods.
One of the sites uses a soil screw method where no cement is used to mount the PV structure, instead a large screw is drilled into the ground to provide a solid PV foundation. This method reduces the use of cement and avoids any kind of soil erosion. He hopes that the Indian RE industry will also look forward to these new avenues.
Shri BhagwantKhuba received a warm welcome and enjoyment from the Indian diaspora in Munich. He said it was a pleasure and a privilege to be in contact with Indians abroad. The Minister consulted with NRIs on how India is prospering under the leadership of the Honorable Prime Minister. He also discussed how non-residents can contribute to the development of the nation. Many bilateral and circuit table meetings have been held over the past 3 days.
