Arun Govil Comments on Ranbir Kapoor’s Role in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayan Trilogy

Arun Govil, renowned for portraying Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar’s iconic TV serial Ramayan, has shared his thoughts on Ranbir Kapoor stepping into the same role for Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming Ramayan trilogy. In an interview with Bollywood Spy, Govil praised Kapoor as a ‘good actor’ and emphasized his cultured demeanor, expressing confidence in Kapoor’s ability to deliver a commendable performance.

When questioned about whether the new adaptation could match the iconic status of the original show, Govil remarked that only time would tell, but he lauded Kapoor’s dedication and moral values.

Reflecting on his observations of Kapoor, Govil remarked, “Whatever I know of him, Ranbir works very hard, and he is a very cultured kid. He has got good moral and cultural values. I’ve noticed it several times.” He expressed certainty that Kapoor would give his best effort in portraying the revered character of Lord Ram.

The highly anticipated Ramayan trilogy is expected to feature Kapoor alongside Sai Pallavi, Yash, and Sunny Deol in the roles of Sita, Ravan, and Hanuman, respectively. According to recent reports, Kapoor will undergo extensive vocal training to lend a distinctive voice to his portrayal of Lord Ram, as director Nitesh Tiwari aims for a unique characterization.

As fans eagerly await the release of the first installment in 2025, Kapoor’s dedication to his craft and Tiwari’s vision promise an intriguing adaptation of this timeless epic.
