Actor Anupam Kher and acclaimed Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi will be honored with film retrospectives at the upcoming 11th edition of the Jagran Film Festival (JFF) starting on 3 August.
The cinema extravaganza will begin with Anupam Kher speech on the current state of the Indian film industry, followed by the world premiere of his yet to be released new film ‘Signature’ in which the 68-year-old actor plays the lead role protagonist.
Anupam Kher says “It gives me immense pleasure to be a part of JFF where I can not only share a riveting retrospective of Indian cinema but also present my film ‘Signature’ as the opening film on such an incredible platform”.
Audiences will also be treated to a truly extraordinary storytelling experience with a retrospective of Oscar nominated filmmaker Majidi’s work allowing viewers to filmography, includes ‘Children of Heaven’ or “The Song of Sparrows” and “Beyond the Clouds”.
Majid Majidi says “I am delighted and honored to have been invited to the prestigious JFF. It is a great opportunity for me to share an international cinema retrospective and delve into the current scenario of the global film industry, we navigate the landscape of cinema, it is imperative to explore the emerging realm of OTT platforms”.
According to the organizers, this year’s Jagran Film Festival is a “mesmerizing ode to cinema”.
