Union Minister of Agriculture launches integrated online and Hi-Tech portals on export / import

The Minister of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Shri Narendra Singh Tomar today unveiled two sites, one Computerized Registration of pesticide (CROP) and the Plant Quarantine Management System (PQMS). Speaking at the event, the Minister said, remembering the vision of the Prime Minister of Agriculture the two sites have been introduced and will help advance digital agriculture and facilitate business.

Shri Tomar expressed delight that Agriculture Exports has taken a big step forward. Minister of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Shri Kailash Chaudhary said the Premier’s emphasis on technology would lead to the development of the agricultural sector. The new sites will benefit farmers, exporters as well as industrialists.

The need for immediate disposal of applications

The Department of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare (DAFW), the Department of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, through the Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine & Storage (DPPQS), Faridabad has been overseeing Indian exports and imports of agricultural and Indian Pesticide Industry, through its use. two sites namely Computerized Registration of pesticide (CROP) and Plant Quarantine Information System (PQIS).

Recognizing the need to expedite the dismissal of applications related to the export / export of agricultural products and pesticide registration, more integrated integration with external programs with stakeholders, and bringing transparency to the existing online system, DAFW today launched two redesigned Internet sites.

The PQMS site will provide an open plan

The PQMS site will provide a transparent system that does not have physical contact areas for applicants and ensures ease of use for users, with an online system that includes e-mail payments and document uploads, online authorization and renewal of medical facilities / services and certification downloads. Similarly, the enhanced CROP site will go a long way in making business easier and provide a comprehensive and timely solution for crop protection for country farmers.

DAFW partnered with CGG, Hyderabad on the design, development, maintenance of technical support and the implementation of a seamless e-Governance solution for the Plant Quarantine Management System (PQMS) in the new technology area and the management of e-Governance Comprehensive Enrollment Solutions -insects. (CHAPTER).

Vision of the Prime Minister

• In line with the Prime Minister’s vision to improve drone technology and its use in India and to facilitate the use of Kisan drones, as announced in the 2022-23 budget document; The Department in consultation with all stakeholders in the sector, has issued General Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the use of drones in the application of pesticides and in the installation of components that provide specific instructions for the effective and safe operation of drones.

 • As part of an ongoing effort to make drone technology accessible to all farmers, the Department has issued directives today giving temporary approval for the spraying of all registered pesticide ingredients using drones. These pesticides are those whose safety and effectiveness have been tested on various plants and are now used in the country using other methods. Applying pesticides using drones will not only make it easier for farmers to effectively protect crops from pests, but will also ultimately help increase their income by reducing installation costs.
