“Fighter,” starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, witnessed a further dip in its box office collections on its seventh day since release, marking a challenging week one at the domestic box office.
According to early estimates on Sacnilk.com, the film managed to earn around ₹6.35 crore nett in India on Wednesday, a decrease of ₹1.15 crore compared to Tuesday’s collections of ₹7.5 crore nett.
The total box office earnings of “Fighter” in India now stand at ₹140.35 crore nett in its opening week, with an overall occupancy rate of 11.89 percent on Wednesday.
Despite a promising start with ₹118.5 crore earned over its opening weekend, the film experienced an unexpected drop on Monday, collecting only ₹8 crore. This downward trend continued throughout the week.
While the film’s performance in India has been disappointing, it is faring better internationally, raising concerns among trade insiders. Renowned film critic Taran Adarsh expressed surprise at the disparity, noting that “Fighter” received positive feedback and critical acclaim but failed to meet expectations domestically.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, “Fighter” features an ensemble cast including Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and Akshay Oberoi. Despite mixed reviews, the film generated buzz upon its release on the eve of Republic Day 2024.
