Studies show that the program promotes inclusivity

Studies have shown that more than 100 million people have connected with Mann Ki Baat at least once, it speaks directly to people, celebrates people engaged in grassroots change and people’s achievements, and has influenced people to take positive action. An IIM Rohtak survey reported that 23 million regular listeners of Mann Ki Baat and 96 percent of the population were aware of the radio program.

Modi’s strong and decisive leadership and emotional connection with the audience were cited as reasons for the programme’s popularity with listeners, the survey said.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation said the radio program has turned into an “inspirational platform” that promotes sustainable progress on priority topics that are at the heart of India’s efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

The aim of the study was to conduct a quantitative and qualitative textual analysis of 99 transcripts of Mann Ki Baat episodes published between 2014-2023 using text mining tools and also to identify the most heavily discussed thematic areas in the programme.
