Germany, France, and Britain have called for an immediate return to a ceasefire in Gaza, urging Israel to restore humanitarian aid and services. In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of the three nations known as the E3 asked Israel to allow access to water, electricity, medical care and evacuations as per international law.
The ministers expressed deep concern over civilian casualties and also demanded that Hamas release Israeli hostages. They emphasized that the conflict cannot be solved through military action and that a lasting ceasefire is the only path to peace.
Additionally, they were “deeply shocked” by an incident involving the UN Office for Project Services (UNOPS) building in Gaza and called for a thorough investigation.
