No breakthrough in the 15th Round of India-China Corps Commander Level Meeting

The 15th round of Corps Commander level discussions between India and China was unable to break the stalemate on the standoff but the talks were positive.

The Indian and Chinese sides carried forward their discussions from the previous round, which was held on the 12th of January 2022, meant to resolve the issues along the LAC in the Western Sector, the joint statement said. It further added that both the sides have agreed to maintain dialogue via military and diplomatic channels so as to reach a mutually acceptable resolution at the earliest.

The statement said that the two sides had detailed exchange of views in this regard, in keeping with the guidance provided by the State Leaders to work for the resolution of the remaining issues at the earliest.

They reaffirmed that such a resolution would help restore peace and tranquility along the LAC in the Western Sector and facilitate progress in bilateral relations.

The two sides have agreed to maintain the security and stability on the ground in the Western Sector in the meantime. They have also agreed to maintain dialogue via military and diplomatic channels to reach a mutually acceptable resolution of the remaining issues at the earliest.
