Kolkata (ANI): West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar demanded CM Mamta Banerjee to provide details regarding July 26 Pegasus notification.
The Governor, through a Tweet, also desired information in connection to Pandemic Purchase Enquiry, Bengal Global Business Summit, Bengal Aerotropolis Project, Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA), MAA Canteen and State Finance Commission.
Rejecting Mamta Banerjee’s refusal to provide him files, citing “matters beyond his jurisdiction”, the governor wrote on Twitter, “There can be no question of office of Hon’ble Governor seeking access to documents and files on a subject matter which is entirely within domain of state executive and in respect of which Governor has no authority or jurisdiction.”
“Guv Shri Dhankhar has conveyed @MamtaOfficial constitutional “duty” to furnish information sought by Governor. Guv emphasized that no information whatsoever can be screened from him by govt and such conduct will be constitutional transgression that shall not be overlooked,” read another tweet from the governor.
Earlier, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had rejected the demand to provide documents relating to the Pegasus issue, saying that the matter is sub-judice with the Supreme Court and providing information will amount to interference in a matter already under the jurisdiction of the apex court.
