Economy Focus: Shares of Taiwanese chipmaker TSMC fell as much as 2.98 percent on Tuesday

Taiwanese chipmaker TSMC  is a Taiwanese multinational contract manufacturing and semiconductor design company. It is the world’s most valuable semiconductor company, the world’s largest dedicated independent (pure-play) semiconductor foundry, and one of Taiwan’s largest companies, with headquarters and main operations located in Hsinchu Science Park, Hsinchu. It is mostly owned by foreign investors.

Shares of Taiwanese chipmaker TSMC fell as much as 2.98 percent on Tuesday as investors eyed a possible trip by US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan later in the day, angering China.The main benchmark stock index fell more than 2 percent.
