Thank You For Coming,” a sex comedy starring Bhumi Pednekar and Shehnaaz Gill, had a lackluster performance at the box office during its opening weekend, and its earnings further declined on Monday. Directed by Karan Boolani and co-produced by filmmaker Rhea Kapoor, the film explores the theme of female sexual empowerment.
The film collected approximately ₹35 lakhs on Monday, with an estimated 11.74 percent Hindi occupancy, bringing its four-day total to ₹4.77 crore. It faced competition at the box office from Akshay Kumar’s “Mission Raniganj” and Rajveer Deol and Paloma’s “Dono.”
The movie revolves around five friends exploring the concept of female sexual pleasure and also features Kusha Kapila, Dolly Singh, and Shibani Bedi. Anil Kapoor and Karan Kundrra make special appearances in the film.
Shehnaaz Gill, one of the film’s lead actors, was hospitalized in Mumbai due to food poisoning during the film’s extensive promotions. Rhea Kapoor visited her in the hospital, and Anil Kapoor cheered her up during her Instagram Live.
Rhea Kapoor also shared audition videos of Bhumi Pednekar, Dolly Singh, and Shibani Bedi on Instagram, expressing gratitude to the cast and crew for their dedication to the film during the challenges of the pandemic.
Bhumi Pednekar, who plays the lead role of Kanika in the film, spoke about her commitment to challenging roles and breaking norms as an actor. She expressed her gratitude to filmmakers who see her as an actor willing to go the extra mile for their vision.
