Japanese chip maker Renesas Electronics Corp recently announced in May 2022 the re-launch of the “Kofu” Fab which will use 300mm geometry to make power semiconductors. The center is scheduled to be online by 2024. Japanese chip manufacturer Renesas Electronics Corp and Tata Motors of India have forged a strong partnership to design, develop and implement semiconductor solutions in the domestic and international markets, the companies said on Wednesday.
Renesas will partner with Tata Motors, India’s largest manufacturer of electric vehicles, in developing the “next generation of automotive electronics” to accelerate the growth of electric and connected cars, companies said in a statement.
As part of the partnership, Renasas will also be working with Tejas Networks, a Tata Group company, on wireless network solutions including 5G. The products will first belong to India with the aim of expanding to global markets.
