The airstrike also injured four other Syrian soldiers and caused material damage, state media reported. Israeli soldiers move military vehicles including self-propelled artillery during an exercise in the annexed Golan Heights on July 17, 2023.

According to the official SANA news agency, an Israeli missile attack near the Syrian capital of Damascus killed at least four Syrian soldiers and wounded four others.

Citing a military source, SANA said the attack took place early Monday morning. At 2:20 a.m. [23:20 GMT] on Sunday, the Israeli enemy launched an air strike from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting areas near Damascus.

The attack killed “four soldiers and wounded four others,” she added. The agency also reported “some material damage” and said Syrian air defenses had intercepted some of the Israeli missiles.
