SonyLIV announced ‘Lords of the Deccan’ action drama series in collaboration with actor Ran Daggubati’s production

Streaming service SonyLIV announced ‘Lords of the Deccan’, a historical action drama series developed in collaboration with actor Ran Daggubati’s production house Spirit Media.

The show which will soon be streamed is adapted from the bestselling book ‘Lords of The Deccan: South India from Chalukyas to Cholas’ written by Anrirudh Kanisetti. The book released in 2022 will take readers back in time to witness the birth of the Chalukyas, a dynasty that shaped South India for centuries.

Saugata Mukherjee, Head Content, SonyLIV said “SonyLIV believes in bringing great Indian stories to audiences around the world. We embark on an exciting journey of capturing the history of the famous dynasties of South India by adapting the famous book ‘Lords of the Deccan’ by Anirudh Kanisetti”.

Details of the show, including its cast and plot, are under wraps. Kanisetti’s debut work ‘Lords of the Deccan’ became one of the most talked about history books last year. It won the Book of the Year (Required Literature) award at Mumbai LitFest 2022.
