‘Sharmaji Namkeen’ Rishi Kapoor’s last film to be released on March 31

Rishi Kapoor passed away on April 30, 2020, and his fans, friends, and family members have been honouring him ever since, particularly through his timeless songs and movies. Now, with Rishi Kapoor’s latest but last film ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’, that is to be released very soon, everyone will be able to re-live the magic of Rishi Kapoor’s performance once more.

Rishi Kapoor had filmed most part of ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’ with Juhi Chawla in the beginning of the year 2020 itself. Following Rishi Kapoor’s death, the producers of the film brought in actor Paresh Rawal to fill in Rishi Kapoor’s shoes and finish the rest of the filming.

The filmmakers revealed on Wednesday that the film will be available on Amazon Prime Video on March 31.

Excel Entertainment and Macguffin Pictures are producing the movie ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’. The movie is being said to be a light hearted coming-of-age story.

Ritesh Sidhwani, the Co-Founder of Excel Entertainment said while talking about the movie that Excel entertainment has always concentrated on presenting the most clutter-breaking storytelling and bringing to life characters that are memorable and touching.

Sharmaji Namkeen is a slice-of-life narrative about an average man on a quest for new purpose in his life. Excel entertainment is honoured and grateful to have worked with the late Rishi Kapoor on this epic family entertainment, which marks his final onscreen appearance, Sidhwani added.

He further said that the film is a tribute to Rishi Kapoor’s larger than life stardom and charisma and excel entertainment is delighted to add another milestone to their dynamic relationship with Prime Video. Hitesh Bhatia is the director of ‘Sharmaji Namkeen.’
