Cricket Legend Sachin Tendulkar Applauds Vicky Kaushal’s Stellar Performance in ‘Sam Bahadur’ Biopic

Mumbai, Saturday Night – Cricket maestro Sachin Tendulkar, accompanied by his wife Anjali Tendulkar, graced the special screening of Vicky Kaushal‘s recently released biopic drama film ‘Sam Bahadur.’ The legendary cricketer not only posed with the talented actor but also took the time to share his thoughts on the film, praising it as an essential watch for all generations.

Tendulkar expressed his admiration for Vicky Kaushal’s portrayal of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, stating, “It’s a very good film. I was super impressed by Vicky’s acting. It truly felt like Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw was present. The body language was incredible. It’s an important film for all generations to watch, to know the history of our country.”

The cricket icon’s endorsement adds another feather to the cap of ‘Sam Bahadur,’ a film that has been garnering attention not just for its stellar cast but also for its poignant depiction of India’s first Field Marshal.

Vicky Kaushal, visibly elated by Tendulkar’s presence and praise, took to Instagram to share a picture of the two, captioning it, “My childhood hero saw my Film today! #IAmOk !!! Thank you @sachintendulkar Sir for your kind words… I’ll cherish them for a lifetime.”

The biopic drama, directed by Meghna Gulzar, got off to a commendable start at the box office, minting ₹5.50 crores on its opening day in India. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh, on his Instagram, mentioned, “#SamBahadur gathered momentum towards evening shows on Day 1… Biz needs to multiply on Sat-Sun for a respectable weekend total… Fri ₹6.25 cr. #India biz.”

Apart from Sachin Tendulkar, other notable personalities from the cricketing world, including Zaheer Khan and Ajit Agarkar, attended the special screening, adding to the star-studded affair.

‘Sam Bahadur’ focuses on the remarkable life of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, covering his illustrious career spanning four decades and five wars. Manekshaw, fondly called ‘Sam Bahadur,’ played a pivotal role in the Indo-Pak War of 1971, leading the Indian Army to victory and resulting in the creation of Bangladesh.

Vicky Kaushal, who plays the lead role in the film, expressed his humility in portraying such an iconic figure, saying, “Playing the role of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw is an immense responsibility and a huge honor. We’ve poured our hearts into bringing to life one of India’s great heroes on screen. I’m humbled to be a part of this project that is so inspiring.”
