Railways and C-DoT will work together to improve Telecommunication in Indian Railways for Public Safety and Security Services

The Department of Railways on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 signed a memorandum of understanding with the Center for the Development of Telematics (C-DOT) to establish a strong working partnership to co-ordinate and share resources regarding Telecommunication service delivery in the delivery and implementation of C-DOT’s Telecom Solutions and and services at Railways.

Through this MoU, CDoT and the Ministry of Railways will work together to improve Telecommunication in Indian Railways for Public Safety and Security Services using LTE-R compliant with international standards, 5G Use Cases in Indian Railways in line with Make in India (MII), Internet of Things (IoT) / Machine Applications (M2M), Integrated Network Management System, OFC Monitoring / Network Management System (NMS), Video Conference Software (VC DOT), Chat app, Routes, Changing and Soon.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Shri RajkumarUpadhyay, Executive Director of C-DOT and Smt. Aruna Singh, Extended Member / Phone Board / Rail Board, in front of other senior executives of both organizations.

The partnership between C-DOT and the Railway Department will help in providing affordable communications equipment and train services, public safety and security applications by reducing the total cost of ownership, boosting the Indian Government of India campaign and helping to close digital divisions in the country.
