Qualcomm partner with MeitY’s Center for the Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) to support Indian semiconductor startups

Qualcomm India Private Limited (Qualcomm India), part of the Qualcomm (NASDAQ: QCOM) group of companies, plans to launch and implement the Qualcomm® Semiconductor Mentorship Program (‘QSMP’) 2022 to prioritize selections from the semiconductor in India, aims to provide and facilitate training, technical training, and industry access. In 2022, Qualcomm India announced a partnership with C-DAC, an independent science community of the Department of Electronic Arts and Information Technology, Government of India, which will be a partner in accessing the system and facilitating exposure to new entrants.

Qualcomm India objectives

Under this partnership, C-DAC and Qualcomm India aim to serve the broader goals of Enhancing the technological development and innovation driven by innovation and product development required for the construction of semiconductor in the Indian ecosystem. Help reduce new risks; speeding up business development; and develop the soft skills and knowledge base of Indian beginners engaged in semiconductor construction. It facilitates access to selected startups with domain professionals, VCs, accelerators, incubators, industry organizations and large companies that can help them grow their business. Create forums and forums that provide opportunities for high-growth small businesses and startups with disruptive technologies that can improve or rebuild semiconductor supply chains in the future.

Short list of up to 10 semiconductor Indian startups

Qualcomm India will evaluate a summary of the 10 Indian semiconductor starters for QSMP 2022. Each shortlist launcher will be linked to a Qualcomm India leader for advice on product planning and development. Startup and mentor will meet occasionally in person or through online meetings. Qualcomm India will also create “Masterclass” workshops for short-listed beginnings in semiconductor design features such as design, testing, and verification packaging, as well as non-technical topics such as platforms, IPR, marketing, government incentives, and and measure. top teams. C-DAC and Qualcomm India will facilitate the exposure of these initiatives to government stakeholders through conferences, webinars, seminars, or trade shows.

RajenVagadia, VP and President of Qualcomm India & SAARC, said, “The semiconductor supply chain emphasizes the need to find local solutions for needs across the industry. As a result of incentives provided by the Government, Qualcomm India is committed to assisting new semiconductors to design engineering talent to advance innovation that will empower the intelligent, connected future we see in advance, not only in India but also globally.

E. Magesh, Director-General of the C-DAC said, “The semiconductor industry is critical to the growth of many other industries. We encourage emerging Indians to come forward and meet the current and predictable domestic demand for semiconductors with the support of government-led programs such as “Make in India” and the Design Linked Incentive (DLI) program. Global and local contexts provide opportunities for both established companies and startups. The joint venture with Qualcomm India will enable us to identify, collaborate, and support the expansion of India’s most promising semiconductor inputs.

Qualcomm India has been working with the first ecosystem in India since 2016. Qualcomm® Design in India Challenge is the company’s leading IoT incubator program and hardware starters designing products and solutions. The program is staffed by dedicated engineers, state-of-the-art laboratory and modeling platforms. in Bengaluru to support the launch. Earlier, in 2020, Qualcomm India launched another startup program – the Qualcomm® Women Entrepreneur India Network, a beginner-based training program for women.
