Punjab elections: Rahul Gandhi to kickstart poll campaign from Moga, on January 3

New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi will commence Punjab assembly election campaign with addressing a rally in Moga on January 3, according to sources.

Punjab assembly elections will be held in 2022. Congress won an absolute majority in the 2017 Punjab Assembly Polls by winning 77 seats. Shiromani Akali Dal and Bharatiya Janata Party led government was ousted after 10 years in power. The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) had won 15 seats while Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured 3 seats.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has emerged as the second largest party winning 20 seats in 117-member Punjab Legislative Assembly.
