PM Modi wishes the people of Himachal Pradesh

New Delhi: In a tweet on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings to the people of Himachal Pradesh on the occasion of its statehood day.

“Wishes to the people of Himachal Pradesh on their statehood day. I wish that this State, which is situated in the lap of nature, continues to move forward on the path of progress and continues to play an important role in the development of the country,” said the tweet.

The Act of Himachal Pradesh was passed by the Parliament on 18th December, 1970, and the new state came into existence on 25th January, 1971. Himachal Pradesh became the 18th State of the Indian Union, and Dr Yashwant Singh Parmar became its first chief minister.
