North Korea Kim Jong inspected the country’s No. 1 military reconnaissance satellite

North Korea has announced that its leader Kim Jong un has approved the next steps in an action plan for a military spy satellite.

North Korean state media reported on Wednesday that Kim inspected the country’s No. 1 military reconnaissance satellite the previous day before launch as final preparations were completed.

UN Security Council resolutions prohibit North Korea from launching objects using ballistic missile technology.

But the country reiterated its intention to launch a long-range ballistic missile under the pretext of putting a satellite into orbit.

The launch would be the first since February 2016 to contravene the resolutions.
