Union Minister of Education and Skills Development Shri Dharmendra Pradhan opened the North East Research Conclave (NERC) 2022 at IIT, Guwahati today. Shri Pradhan in his address said the conference will strengthen communication between industry, academics and policy makers and strengthen research, implementation and business plans in the resource-rich provinces of the North East and the country.
Aim of the research
Commenting on the importance of research, the Minister of Education said the aim of the research should be to find solutions to the country’s chronic problems and to encourage all people to come together, work together and produce together the well-being of the most vulnerable. NERC 2022 will be a global symbol of achievement of India and global research and development, he added. Shri Pradhan urged youth and students to ‘walk the path of careers and responsibilities’ to take the country to higher ground.
The Union Minister also noted that strengthening the research program, promoting innovation at the grassroots level and leading India to confidence the government is in the process of establishing a National Research Foundation with proposed Rs 50,000 million in line with the recommendations. of NEP 2020. He also said that the North East region has great potential to promote research and innovation.

Assam Prime Minister Dr. HimantaBiswaSarma in his speech said Research and Development is very important in a fast-growing nation like India. In a developing society research and development has always been regarded as the basis for construction as it plays an important role in the process of innovation and to increase our knowledge and understanding, he added.
National Minister of Education Shri RajkumarRanjan Singh in his speech said the North-East Research Conclave is a platform for entrepreneurs and research institutions to market their ideas. He said this was a great initiative in the North East that brought policy makers, industrialists and researchers to the same area. This major event will have a huge impact on the education sector of the region, he addedSpeaking to the NERC Conclave, National Minister of Education DrSubhas Sarkar said Government was working for the development of the education sector in all parts of the country.

Shipping Minister Shri SarbanandaSonowal in his address said the North East Research Conclave will help the new generation achieve their dreams soon.The event was signed by the MoU ‘Assam Advanced Health Innovation Institute (AAHI)’ between the Government of Assam and IIT, Guwahati.
At today’s event Shri RameswarTeli, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Shri RanojPegu, Minister of Education, Government of Assam, Shri KeshabMahanta, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Assam, Smt Queen Ojha , MP, Lok Sabha and Prof. T.G Sitharam, Director, IIT, Guwahati were also present along with other dignitaries.
The North East Research Conclave 2022 is designed to showcase the best Research and Development activities from all educational institutions and research institutes in all the northeastern states of India. It will also seek to create a similar network of educational and industrial interactions in Northeast India. The conference will also work to create space, which will assist in the development of traditional local technologies and innovations, create scope and build a business base and mobilize a wide range of talents, in order to improve Translation Research.
