PM Narendra Modi Sets India on Semiconductors Path with ₹1.25 Lakh Crore Projects in Gujarat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to inaugurate three semiconductor projects worth approximately ₹1.25 lakh crore today via video conferencing. The projects include a semiconductor fabrication facility at the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) in Gujarat, along with Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facilities in Morigaon, Assam, and Sanand, Gujarat.

These endeavors align with PM Narendra Modi’s vision to establish India as a prominent global center for semiconductor design, manufacturing, and technology development. The semiconductor fab at DSIR, to be developed by Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL), represents an investment exceeding ₹91,000 crore, marking the inauguration of India’s first commercial semiconductor fab.

Additionally, the OSAT facilities, to be established by TEPL and CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited, will further strengthen India’s semiconductor ecosystem, creating numerous employment opportunities across various sectors. PM Modi’s initiative underscores India’s commitment to technological advancement and economic growth through semiconductor innovation.
