US Congressman Expresses Confidence in PM Narendra Modi’s Reelection, Praises India’s Economic Progress

Washington: In a recent interview with our reporter, US Congressman Rich McCormick, a Republican from Georgia, expressed confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s popularity and predicted his reelection in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. McCormick described Modi as an incredibly popular leader, highlighting his bipartisan appeal and projecting a victory with around 70 per cent popularity.

Speaking about India’s economic growth under PM Modi’s leadership, McCormick praised the progressive outlook on the economy, development, and goodwill towards all people. He noted that India’s economy has been expanding at a rate of four to eight per cent annually, emphasizing the country’s willingness to collaborate with other nations.

Acknowledging some elements of protectionism in India, McCormick pointed out the strategic importance of the country as a potential market for businesses worldwide. He highlighted the need for trust and mutual benefit in sharing technologies between nations, contrasting India’s approach with what he termed as aggressive posturing by China.

As a member of the House Committee on Armed Services and House Foreign Affairs Committee, McCormick stressed the importance of developing a relationship of trust with India, positioning the country as a strategic ally in resisting autocracies like China. He emphasized the need for honest dialogue and cooperation to foster a strong partnership between the United States and India.
