Disaster Focus: Landslide created devastation situation in Manipur and the Army helicopters were on standby and assisting in rescue operations in Manipur

At least 14 people have been killed and 4 others feared dead after a landslide in a remote area northeast of Indian Manipur, officials said on Thursday. Soldiers were recruited to take part in the search, but officials were not optimistic.

The chances of surviving survivors are very slim considering that the landslide occurred at around 2am, Haulianlal Guite, Noney district magistrate in Manipur, was told by telephone.
