India-Africa Defense Dialogue (IADD) was held on the sidelines of DefExpo 2022 in  Gujarat

The India-Africa Defense Dialogue (IADD) was held on the sidelines of DefExpo 2022 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat on 18 October 2022. The Gandhinagar Declaration, adopted as the outcome document of the second edition of the IADD, outlined new areas for strengthening the India-Africa defense and security partnership.

During the IADD, in line with the new proposals of the Gandhinagar Declaration, Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh launched the “India-Africa Security Fellowship Programme” and released its brochure by handing it over to the Director General of the Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defense Studies and Analyses. (MP-IDSA).

MP-IDSA, the knowledge partner for IADD, will host the scholarship program. This scholarship will provide an opportunity for African scientists to conduct research on defense and security issues in India. Members would be attached to MP-IDSA for a period of 1-3 months. Scholarship would also be given to scholars. Further details on the application process can be obtained from the MP-IDSA website (https://www.idsa.in/).
