The gross GST revenue collected in the month of August 2022 is ₹ 1,43,612 crore, of which CGST is ₹ 24,710 crore, SGST is ₹ 30,951 crore, IGST is ₹ 77,782 crore (including ₹ 42,067 crore collected on import of goods) and cess is ₹ 10,168 crore (including ₹ 1,018 crore collected on import of goods).
The government settled ₹29,524 crore on CGST and ₹25,119 crore on SGST from IGST. The total revenue of Center and States in the month of August 2022 after proper settlement is ₹ 54,234 crore for CGST and ₹ 56,070 crore for SGST.
The revenue for the month of August 2022 is 28% higher than the GST revenue of the same month last year at ₹1,12,020 crore. Revenue from the import of goods was 57% higher during the month, and revenue from domestic transactions (including the import of services) was 19% higher than revenue from these sources in the same month last year.
For six consecutive months, the monthly GST revenue has been more than ₹ 1.4 crore. GST revenue growth to August 2022 compared to the same period last year is 33%, which continues to show very high momentum. This is a clear impact of the various measures taken by the Council in the past to ensure better compliance. Better reporting coupled with economic recovery has a consistently positive impact on GST revenue. During the month of July 2022, 7.6 million e-travel vouchers were generated, up slightly from 7.4 million in June 2022 and up 19% from 6.4 million in July 2021.
