International Conference on Green Hydrogen, bring together the global scientific and industrial community

The Government of India is organizing the International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH-2023) on 5-7 July 2023 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi to bring together the global scientific and industrial community to discuss the latest advances and emerging technologies across the green field. hydrogen value chain. The conference will enable industry stakeholders to explore the evolving green hydrogen landscape and innovative solutions in the industry.

The conference is organized by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy in collaboration with the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research and Office of the Chief Scientific Adviser to the Government of India.

The core objective of the conference is to explore how we can create a green hydrogen ecosystem and promote a systems approach to meeting global decarbonisation goals through green hydrogen. In addition to domain-specific research interactions on production, storage, distribution and downstream applications, the conference will also discuss green finance, human resource upskilling and start-up initiatives in this area. The conference will enable sharing and learning from international best practices in the sector.

Various plenary lectures, expert panel discussions and technical sessions at the conference will provide an opportunity for domestic and international participants from the industry and research communities to delve deep into these national and global priorities in line with the goals enshrined in India’s National Green Hydrogen. Mission, a mission launched by the Government of India to help achieve India’s Net Zero goal by 2070.

New and Renewable Energy Secretary Bhupinder Singh Bhalla said at a press conference at the International Curtain Raiser Conference that outreach and industry partnerships are an integral part of the National Green Hydrogen Mission. The secretary highlighted the role of industry in various steps of the value chain such as production, distribution and storage. He said the conference seeks to bring together the best minds to explore solutions to develop and strengthen the nation’s green hydrogen ecosystem.

Technology adoption is critical to increasing electrolyser production capacity

The secretary said the conference is the first major event on green hydrogen. He said the green hydrogen ecosystem is important to achieve the National Green Hydrogen Mission’s core production target of producing 5 MMT of green hydrogen per year by 2030. “The production capacity of electrolyzers in the world is very limited, this capacity has to come in India. And that is why it is important that we learn and adopt the appropriate technology for the production of the electrolyzer as well as for the various individual components of the production process.

Through this process, we create a platform where experts can talk about the different steps of the value chain so that we can learn from others; this would include not only production but also marketing and collaboration.
