Australia is in talks with the United States to provide a formula for children, a spokesman for the Australian government said on Wednesday, after the US health regulator postponed its import policy to address child food shortages across the country.
“The Australian Government will continue to work with the Biden Administration to ensure regulatory measures and facilitate the export of children’s formulas,” a spokesman for Australia’s Department of Agriculture, Water and Environmental Affairs said in an email.
Reported earlier this week that several dairy companies in Australia and New Zealand have already submitted applications to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to provide infant formula.
