Washington: The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced that the initial registration period for the highly sought-after H-1B visas for foreign guest workers for fiscal year 2025 will close at 12 noon Eastern Time on March 22.
During this period, prospective petitioners and legal representatives are required to utilize an online account of USCIS to electronically register each beneficiary for the selection process and pay the associated registration fee for each beneficiary, USCIS stated on Monday.
Users with online accounts will also have access to enhanced organizational account features to facilitate collaboration on registrations and petitions, the agency added.
Form I-129, the petition for a non-immigrant worker for H-1B petitions, and Form I-907, the request for premium processing service, are now accessible in USCIS online accounts, according to a media release.
Additionally, USCIS will commence accepting online filing of forms for H-1B cap petitions on April 1. The agency has indicated that it will announce the availability of online filing for non-cap H-1B petitions at a later date.
The announcement comes as companies and individuals gear up for the highly competitive process of securing H-1B visas, which are commonly used by employers to hire foreign professionals in specialty occupations.
