An ‘eco-fashion show’ showcased stylish yet environmentally friendly clothing, emphasizing the fusion of fashion and sustainability. The day’s activities included LiFE-related quizzes and word search competitions, aimed at fostering awareness and understanding among participants. The event underscored the potential of youth-led initiatives in driving behavioral change towards a more environmentally conscious lifestyle.

Furthermore, Environmental Information, Awareness, Capacity Building, and Livelihood Programme (EIACP) centers under MoEF&CC, alongside business establishments, exhibited a range of eco-friendly products at the exhibition. From millets-based and forestry products to portable solar energy harnessing systems, the displays highlighted innovative solutions for sustainable living.

The event continues on February 10th, featuring on-the-spot face painting and poster-making competitions, workshops on waste segregation, Mission LiFE theme-based quizzes, and more interactive activities. LiFE, spearheaded by India, aims to inspire individual and community action to protect and preserve the environment.

The initiative promotes climate-friendly social norms, sustainable practices, and lifestyle choices to address the challenges of climate change, with a focus on conserving energy and water, reducing waste and e-waste, adopting sustainable food systems, and combating single-use plastic.

LiFE actions offer numerous co-benefits, including mitigating air pollution, cost savings, and enhancing well-being and health. These actions are designed to be specific, measurable, and easy to practice, with minimal dependencies on supply-side factors and non-disruptive to economic activities. The event at India Gate serves as a platform to galvanize collective efforts towards a greener and more sustainable future.
