Twitter’s new boss Elon Musk has said that the social media giant is working on the task to expand the character limit for posts on the social media platform. “It’s on the todo list,” Musk tweeted after spaceflight photographer John Kraus said that the character limit on Twitter should be increased to 1,000.
“Character limit should be 1000, but only show the first 280 on timeline with a “… (show more)” to indicate the tweet is longer. When tapped, expand the entire tweet. When scrolled to end, it smoothly transitions back into timeline. Cuts down on “x/87” threads, keeps the same feel on timeline,” Kraus wrote in his tweet.
