Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi participated in an event in Tokyo today to present the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) negotiations. The event was attended by USA President H.E. Mr. Joseph R. Biden and the Prime Minister of Japan H.E. Mr. Kishida Fumio, as well as the visible presence of its foreign counterparts namely. Australia, Brunei, Indonesia, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Prime Minister said the IPEF proclamation
A Joint Statement was released, highlighting key considerations within the IPEF.The IPEF aims to strengthen economic cooperation between the participating countries with a view to promoting sustainability, sustainability, inclusion, economic growth, fairness, and competitiveness in the Indo-Pacific region.In his inaugural address, the Prime Minister said the IPEF proclamation was a declaration of a shared desire to make the Indo-Pacific region an engine of global economic growth. India has historically been the center of trade in the Indo-Pacific region, with the world’s largest commercial port in Lothal, Gujarat. The Prime Minister called for similar and innovative solutions to be found to address the economic challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.
He expressed India’s commitment to work with all Indo-Pacific countries to achieve an inclusive and flexible IPEF. He emphasized that the foundation for strong supply chains should be 3T’s – Trust, Transparency and Timeliness. India is committed to a free, open, inclusive and inclusive Indo-Pacific region and believes that the depth of economic cooperation among our partners is essential for sustainable growth, peace and prosperity. India is committed to working with partner countries under the IPEF and working to improve regional economic integration, integration and trade development and investment within the region. With the launch of today’s IPEF process, partner countries will begin negotiations focused on strengthening economic cooperation and achieving shared goals.
