Dharmendra Reflects on Hollywood and Indian Love as He Turns 88

On his 88th birthday, veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra recalled his thoughts on working in Hollywood in a 2017 interview. He expressed that despite the allure of Hollywood, it never seemed worth it to him. Dharmendra emphasized the unmatched love he receives in India and stated, “You are the best in your home and your homeland with your people.” He believes that the love and appreciation one receives in their own country are unparalleled, and fame elsewhere may lead to getting lost. Dharmendra, known for his iconic roles in Indian cinema, has been part of numerous successful films spanning several decades.

Dharmendra’s Illustrious Career and Upcoming Projects

Dharmendra gained fame in the mid-1960s with films like “Phool Aur Patthar,” “Aaye Din Bahar Ke,” and “Sholay.” He has received acclaim for his performances in a wide range of movies, from action-packed dramas to romantic films. In recent years, he has appeared in movies such as “Life in a Metro” and “Yamla Pagla Deewana.” Dharmendra was last seen in Karan Johar’s “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” alongside Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt.

Looking ahead, Dharmendra has two upcoming projects. He will feature in a romantic film starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon.
