Bollywood actor Swara Bhasker on Friday lauded Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, calling it laudable considering the situation in the country. Sharing a TV clip of the yatra, the Bollywood actor said that despite constant personal attacks, Rahul Gandhi did not opt for “sensational politics”. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh acknowledged Swara Bhasker’s praise for the yatra. “Finally,” Swara Bhasker tweeted and shared the tweet.
“Credit where it’s due…Despite electoral defeats, trolling, personal attacks and constant criticism of inefficiency, Rahul Gandhi has not succumbed to communal rhetoric or sensationalist politics. Given the situation of this country, efforts like Bharat Jodo’s are commendable,” Swara Bhasker’s tweet read. In another tweet, the actor clarified that it was not an advertisement for the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

The jatra is now in Telangana and will cover 19 assemblies and seven parliamentary constituencies spanning about 375 km before entering Maharashtra on November 7. Former Indian cricket captain and one of the working presidents of Telangana Congress Mohammed Azharuddin joined Rahul Gandhi’s yatra on Thursday. Addressing a rally in Mahbnunnagar on Friday, Rahul Gandhi promised one slab of GST instead of 5 if the Congress comes to power. ma this supports all the bills introduced by the NDA government in the parliament. “BJP is spreading hatred on one side and TRS is supporting it on the other. Whatever BJP wants, TRS fulfills it in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha,” he said.
