The government is making effort to meet the security requirements for domestic procurement : Shri Ajay Bhatt

Raksha RajyaMantri Shri Ajay Bhatt called on the scientific community to make advances in technology, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), so that the nation can prepare for future threats. He was speaking at a National Technology Day event organized by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) in New Delhi on May 11, 2022.

Raksha RajyaMantri thanked DRDO for its efforts in establishing a reliable R&D ecosystem that provides the Armed Forces with state-of-the-art equipment, in line with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’. “DRDO has proven itself in the design, development and production of state-of-the-art equipment / systems. Increased private sector involvement. As a result of these efforts, India is now one of the top 25 exporting arms, ”he said.

National Technology Day is celebrated on May 11 every year to commemorate the 1998 nuclear tests in Pokhran. This year’s theme is ‘Integrated Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future’. Shri Ajay Bhatt said, the theme emphasizes the importance of developing science and technology around for the betterment of the nation.

During the event, the Raksha RajyaMantri presented the 2019 DRDO awards to the scientific organization for demonstrating outstanding excellence in achieving the technological dreams of the Nation. The award category includes Life-Time Achievement Awards, Technology Leadership, Senior Scientific Awards, Academy Excellence, Techno-Managerial, Self-Reliance and Performance Awards.

Shri Ajay Bhatt also released two monographs – ‘Endeavors in Self-reliance Defense Research (1983-2018)’ by former DRDO Director Dr KG Narayanan and ‘Director-General of Cyber ​​Security’ Practices and Practices’ -DRDO Dr. G Athithan. The Defense Technology Spectrum was also released at the event. The event also featured three DRDO scientists’ lectures on advanced technology.

In his address, R&D Secretary of Defense and DRDO Chairman Dr G Satheesh Reddy congratulated the scientists and experts and thanked them for their contribution to building an independent defense ecosystem. Secretary, Department of Environment and Chairperson, Atmospheric Commission Shri S Somanath; Senior officials from the Department of Defense and scientists of the DRDO were among those present at the event.
