Box office first day collection of Vikram Veda: Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan film starts similar to Shamshera at ₹ 10 cr

Vikram Vedha is a neo-noir action thriller that also stars Radhika Apte, Rohit Saraf, Yogita Bihani, Sharib Hashmi and Satyadeep Mishra. It is a remake of Pushkar Gayathri’s Tamil film of the same name. According to a report, Vikram Vedha did not do well in the mass centers like Maharashtra and Gujarat. The opening characters of the film are similar to collections of two disappointing releases of the year: Shamshera and Samrat Prithviraj.

Vikram Vedha has received positive reviews from critics who claim that the film will be loved by more audiences who have not seen the original and will not compare it to the remake. A review of the film read, “Vikram Vedha is a stylized, bloated and somewhat sanitized remake of a cult classic. It has to be all of those things given its size and scale and the star power it carries.

The remake is choppy with some bits left out from the original, which may have made the film better. But the creators decided to choose style over substance in some parts. The good thing is that it’s not jerky enough to be noticeable or at least annoying. Vikram Vedha works as a thriller as well as a masala action film. It’s pleasant and can handle a few whistles and claps in a packed hall. This will give you your money’s worth, even if that value is no longer ₹75.”

Talking about working with Saif Ali Khan in this film about the two heroes, Hrithik told, “For the first time in my 22-year career, I felt how to protect myself. I felt an instinctive pull that I had to be very real because I was standing opposite an actor who is the most real artist.”
