Congress MP Jairam Ramesh said in party some are Ghulam Nabi & some join to investigative & join bjp

Congress MP Jairam Ramesh on Thursday, while talking about the defection of eight MLAs in Goa, said that only two types of people are leaving the Congress. Explaining, he said that the first category includes people who got everything from the party. Citing the example of former J&K Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, Jairam Ramesh said, “The first category includes people who benefited from the party. Ghulam Nabi Azad is an example of that. He got everything from the party from Youth Congress President to PCC President, Union Cabinet Minister, General Secretary etc. Only those who have benefited from the Congress will kick the party and leave.’

No. 2 are those who are vulnerable to investigative agencies. They will go and join BJP. The moment they join BJP they become pure. Look at the Chief Minister of Assam, a classic example. Not a single case against him. But when he was in Congress, BJP attacked him every day. Now he has become Chief Minister and BJP is completely silent,” said Jairam Ramesh. Goa MLAs who left the party also belonged to this 2nd type, Congress MP said. These 8 MLAs went to this BJP washing machine. They are among the most corrupt people who I know,” said Jairam Ramesh.

“I agree that Congress made a mistake” At a press conference in Kerala, Jairam Ramesh said that he agreed that the Congress had made a mistake – by letting them (8 Goa MLAs) into the party. “But now that they have entered the BJP washing machine, they will become spotless white like my kurta,” said Jairam Ramesh, adding that people leave but for every person leaving after enjoying everything, there are 20-30 young leaders waiting to positions in the party. I’m not worried if some of these big names leave. The sooner they leave the better,” said Jairam Ramesh.

As the Bharat Jodo Yatra began on September 7 from Kanyakumari, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma questions the yatra, leading to a war of words between him and Congress leaders. While the Assam CM advised the Congress to take a yatra to Pakistan while India is united, Jairam Ramesh had earlier said that Himanta Biswa Sarma has to say something outrageous every day to prove his loyalty to the BJP – given his long association with the Congress. To this, the Assam Chief Minister said that he did not know any Jairam Ramesh.
