Politics Focus: Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Friday said he will appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED)

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Friday said he would appear before Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials here later in the day over a money laundering case. Speaking on Twitter, Raut said he would appear in front of the center at noon. “I will appear before ED today at 12 noon. I respect the Samans I have been given and it is my duty to co-operate with the Inquisition. I urge Shivsena staff not to gather at the ED office. Don’t worry!” Raut said on his Twitter.

He also named former Maharashtra prime minister Uddhav Thackeray, NCP chief Sharad Pawar, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, and West Bengal Prime Minister Mamata Banerjee in his place. The organization called Raut on June 28, but his lawyer demanded more time from the investigation center to appear, saying he had to attend a meeting in Alibag in the Raigad region that day. After that, the ED issued new summonses, asking him to appear before it on Friday. The ED has called on a member of Rajya Sabha to be interrogated in a money laundering investigation into the rebuilding of the Mumbai ‘chawl’ and other financial matters involving his wife and friends.
