Governance Focus: Gates of development open to J&K after withdrawal of Article 370: Ramdas Athawale

The Minister of State for Justice and Social Development, Government of India, Shri RamdasAthawale today said the Government of India wants a peaceful and prosperous J&K and is committed to developing Jammu and Kashmir in all sectors. The Minister made the remarks during a media briefing at the Convention Center in Jammu.Shri RamdasAthawale said that after the repeal of Article 370 in 2019, the gates of development have been opened in Jammu and Kashmir, which is reflected in the fact that all the programs and programs funded by the institution are now being used at J&K by Pradhan MantriAwas. Yojana, Jan DhanYojana, MUDRA, PM UjjwalaYojana, Student Education Schemes, Social Schemes for Organized Partners, Organized Nations and Other Background Classes.

Shri Athawale also said that the implementation of 100% of many central J&K programs is a testament to the fact that the Government. of India is focused on providing social stability in all sectors into housing, subsistence etc for the people of J&K.The Minister announced that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the implementation of social programs has grown exponentially with the manifestation of Prime Minister Jan DhanYojana, from 2014-2022 (June), 45 crore 55 lakh accounts were opened, under the PM. UjjwalaYojana between 2016-22 (June), 9 crore 29 lakh gas connections were allocated to beneficiaries, under PM AwasYojana (Urban) between 2015-22 (June), approximately 60 thousand houses lakh 17 built, under PM. AwasYojana (Rural), 02 crore 25 lakh houses, built under Prime Minister Jan ArogyaYojana, 35 lakh beneficiaries, under UjalaYojana, 36 crore 79 lakh lakh LEDs. The Minister announced that between 2019-22 (June), 1720 addiction centers have been funded or established under financial assistance to establish addiction centers.

Shri Athawale told the media that under PMAY (Urban) in Jammu Division, 18590 were the official beneficiaries of 4568 houses, under PMAY (Rural), 131945 approved, of which 80008 were built internally. Jammu Division. Under Prime Minister Jan DhanYojana, 2641995 accounts were created at J&K where 1192312 was built exclusively in the Jammu section and under Prime Minister UjjwalaYojana, 1316924 gas was connected to J&K, the Minister informed the media.

Shri Athawale also held a review meeting related to the implementation of social programs in Jammu and Kashmir with senior J&K Department of Social Affairs officials attended by the Director General, Department of Social Development, J&K, MsVivek Sharma apart from other senior J&K department officials.ShriAthawale will also be part of the Nelson Mandela Noble Peace Awards at the Hari Niwas Palace, Jammu.
